ProClin™ preservatives are water-soluble preparations of biocides that are generally used to increase the shelf life of reagents. ProClin™ 300 comprises of 3% of 5-chloro-2-methyl-4-isothiazolin-3-one (CMIT) and 2-methyl-4-isothiazloin-3-one (MIT) in a salt-free proprietary glycol containing an alkly carboxylate stabilizer. It has a recommended working pH range as 2.5 - 8.5.
Application
ProClin biocides are immediately microstatic upon contact with microbial organisms as a result of their ability to quickly penetrate cell membranes and inhibit specific enzymes crucial to cellular respiration. Multiple specific sites of ProClin toxicity prevent microorganisms from developing high levels of resistance, making ProClin highly efficient even over extended storage periods of your IVD components.
For use in biological diagnostic assays and IVDs only
ProClin™ 300 is suitable for preparation of different buffers like ELISA buffer, sample and substrate dilution buffers for Single-Molecule Arrays (Simoa assay) and Immunoenzymatic assay. Additionally, Proclin™ may be used in preparing storage buffer to store beads coupled with coronavirus nucleocapsid protein for the serological multiplex assay.
Biochem/physiol Actions
ProClin™ products contain active substances like CMIT and MIT which inhibit the Krebs cycle at four different check points, the enzymes pyruvate dehydrogenase, α-ketoglutarate dehydrogenase, succinate dehydrogenase, and NADH dehydrogenase. The inhibition of Krebs cycle leads to effective broad-spectrum biocidal activity against bacteria, fungi, and yeast.
